Guys, I bet the thickest “book” in American homes right now isn’t the Bible, but the medical bill. Last month, I had an inflamed wisdom tooth, and the dentist took one look and said, “Root canals for eight teeth? Friendly price: $45,000!” I almost sprayed the painkiller in his face right there—that’s enough for dental treatment, a vacation, and a cabin in Costa Rica! Even worse, I pay $700 a month for health insurance, and the dental reimbursement cap is only $3,500. Do insurance companies think I’m just a gym teacher teaching math?

And Trump’s “big, beautiful” bill, once signed, wiped out the health insurance of 12 million Americans! Congressmen tiptoed about “tax cuts for the middle class,” but what happened? Our community hospital posted a sign: “Closing next year due to Medicaid cuts.” Get it? The rich’s tax bills are smaller, but the poor’s lives will be smaller too! Didn’t Vice President Vance’s hand shake when he cast that crucial vote? Maine Senator Collins voted against the bill, but it was a dead giveaway!

I’ve learned my lesson: For minor ailments, I use Google; for major ones, I fly abroad. My neighbor, Taylor, is a role model—he spent 320,000 RMB on dental treatment in the US, but only spent 30% of that on a flight to Costa Rica, including the treatment and vacation. What’s with all the “dangers of medical treatment abroad”? Pah! Dentists are just trying to scare people.
