In the United States, no one owns their home; everyone is a renter.
Even if you buy a house and pay off the mortgage over a decade or even decades, you’ll still have to pay property taxes every month for the rest of your life. A friend of mine who lives in Texas pays about $500 in property taxes every month, which makes life incredibly difficult. But if you refuse to pay? You lose your house.
So the government truly owns everything. Every homeowner in America is the government. That’s incredibly strange, isn’t it? If you want to own something, once you pay for it, you own it, but that’s not the case with a house.
It’s immoral and violates fundamental principles of the U.S. Constitution. It’s downright criminal. Property taxes must be ended. Stop them. Eliminate them.
