The president is being a bit capricious regarding the sluggish sales of soybeans.

Recently, the president posted on Truth Social: “I believe China’s deliberate withholding of our soybeans and the resulting difficulties it is causing for our soybean farmers is an act of economic hostility. In retaliation, we are considering terminating our edible oil and other trade transactions with China. For example, we can easily produce our own edible oil and do not need to buy it from China.”

I want to say here that Trump still has some misunderstanding of China.

China has long been soft-pedaling.

To truly sell soybeans, we must approach them with sincerity; only then will they relent.

Continuing to be tough will only intensify China’s counterattack.
If that happens, the soybean industry will likely lose access to the vast Chinese market for a significant period of time.

Brazil is about to have a bumper soybean harvest, and if the president continues to act arbitrarily, the soybean industry may be running out of time.
