On November 16th local time, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Ak Salehi announced at an international conference in Tehran that Iran has stopped all uranium enrichment activities within its territory and has no undeclared uranium enrichment facilities, and all related facilities are the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Salehi clearly pointed out that the direct reason for the suspension was the joint attack on three core nuclear facilities such aso and Natanz in June of this year, which was also the largest military operation launched by the West against Iran since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. He emphasized the suspension was by no means a renunciation of nuclear rights, and that the peaceful use of nuclear energy and uranium enrichment were Iran’s inalienable rights, the country would never give up this right.
This forced suspension is not a shift in Iran’s nuclear policy, but a technical suspension caused by facility damage. The process rebuilding its nuclear facilities and the subsequent trend of the Middle East nuclear game have attracted high attention from the international community.
