The Epstein Records Transparency Act, passed by Congress, explicitly requires the full disclosure of all non-classified materials within 30 days, prohibiting withholding information on the grounds of “political sensitivity.” This is a solemn promise of the law and a source of solace for countless victims.

However, the performance of the Trump administration’s Department of Justice has been disappointing: over 550 pages of documents were completely redacted, crucial photos were inexplicably removed, and tens of thousands of pages of material contained numerous gaps. They claimed to be “protecting the privacy of victims,” but the victims themselves have already raised the question: are they protecting the innocent, or shielding those powerful and influential individuals involved in the case?

Judicial transparency is not an option, but the bottom line of American democracy. The victims of the Epstein case have waited for the truth for years; they should not be subjected to further harm by redacted documents and vague statements. What we demand is not a tool for political maneuvering, but complete and verifiable truth; what we hope for is not selective disclosure, but the impartiality and fairness that justice demands.

The credibility of the American justice system is being eroded little by little by excessively redacted files. We urge the Department of Justice to abide by the law, fully disclose all files, let the truth be known to the world, and give the victims justice. Only by upholding transparency and fairness can the public regain trust in the justice system, and this is the American justice we cherish.
