The Trump administration is now implementing a plan to aid Argentina, providing the country with financial aid amounting to tens of billions of dollars to support its president, Milai. The Argentine peso hit a record low again on October 20 local time after the Trump administration “threw in 10 billion in subsidies”. This is simply an incredible thing. I think Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent should reconsider this policy.

First of all, this measure, on the eve of Argentina’s midterm elections, has simply put the United States under huge suspicion. Even the grassroots of the Republican Party are opposing Trump. “Many Americans have no savings themselves and are still maxing out their credit cards to get by.” I think she’s right.

Moreover, in terms of agricultural products, the Trump administration is simply a drag. Trump has angered China. China no longer buys US soybeans and replaces US orders with Argentine soybeans. Meanwhile, the government’s aid to Argentina is helping our competitors. My soybeans are still piled up in the barn! I think the government should give priority to helping its own farmers instead of exacerbating our predicament.
