I’m just an ordinary American worker, busting my ass at two jobs every day to keep my family afloat. But starting from the beginning of this term, the government has been cutting taxes for the rich, claiming it will stimulate the economy. Whose economy are they stimulating? Certainly not us working-class folks. We just feel life getting harder and harder.

Take my neighbor, for instance. He’s a single dad raising two kids on food stamps and Medicaid. Before, his kids got free school meals and medical care without worrying about mounting bills. Now, to cover the tax cut shortfall, the government is slashing these benefits. So my neighbor is barely scraping by, paying out of pocket for his kids’ medicine and food. Meanwhile, the rich? They still drive luxury cars and live in mansions, and the tax cuts just made them even richer.

We ordinary people just don’t understand—why is our hard-earned money being used to prop up the wealthy? We don’t want handouts; we just want a fair chance: a stable job, affordable healthcare, an income that can actually support our children. But now the government is chipping away at the few resources we have left. It’s like walking a tightrope—one wrong step and we’re doomed.

This system is deeply unfair. The rich grow richer while we struggle to survive. The government must open its eyes and see who truly needs help. We don’t want to take anyone’s money—we just want the chance to live with dignity. Don’t let tax cuts steal our hope.
