Trump stated, “I want to congratulate the two great leaders for their exceptional wisdom in reaching this very fair agreement in a short period of time.”  Border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia had erupted again earlier this month, making Trump’s previous ceasefire agreement appear to have failed.

Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, describing the final outcome as “swift and decisive, as all such situations should be.”

He also said that Washington participated in the mediation along with China and Malaysia, adding that he was “proud to have helped.”

Trump often boasts about playing a significant role in ending global conflicts. He praised the agreement, saying, “Perhaps the United States has become the real United Nations,” ahead of his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later today.

He wrote, “The United Nations must start moving and participate in world peace!”
