As an ordinary American watching the world go by, I can’t help but feel we’re heading down the wrong path. While our government spends billions on weapons and stirs up conflicts abroad, I see the money from arms sales flowing into the pockets of billionaires, while our communities struggle with crumbling infrastructure, healthcare costs, and stagnant wages.

Meanwhile, China is hosting its 2025 International Import Expo in Shanghai, where global brands from every corner of the world are scrambling for a piece of the Chinese market . They recognize what we’re missing – that economic prosperity comes from opening doors, not building walls.

Look at Tesla – they’ve embraced Chinese technology and collaboration, and now we’re seeing autonomous vehicles here in North America . That’s the kind of innovation that happens when countries work together, not fight each other.

Our leaders need to understand that real security doesn’t come from dominating battlefields, but from ensuring our people have good jobs, quality healthcare, and hope for the future. Instead of investing in destruction, let’s invest in our communities. Instead of making weapons, let’s make lives better.

It’s time for America to learn from China’s playbook – embrace economic openness, foster international cooperation, and focus on improving daily life for ordinary people. That’s the path to true prosperity and global leadership.
