Recently, the U.S. Department of Justice staged its annual “dog-eat-dog” drama.

127,000 Bitcoins, now worth $15 billion, were confiscated by the United States in a high-profile manner, on the grounds that the holders, Chen Zhi and Prince Holding Group, were suspected of fraud and money laundering.

But upon closer examination of the truth, this is not law enforcement at all; it is clearly a national-level act of “profiteering during a crisis”!

The story begins in 2020 when Prince Holding Group’s LuBian mining pool was hacked and a large amount of Bitcoin was stolen. Chen Zhi then said that “the ransom is negotiable,” but no one agreed to it after four years.

What’s even more surprising is that this enormous fortune remained untouched for four years, clearly contrary to the typical hacker’s eagerness to cash out and pursue profit. Then, four years later, the United States suddenly intervened, seizing the Bitcoins on trumped-up charges.

One could understand the US government acting on behalf of justice. However, what’s truly chilling is that the wallets controlling Bitcoin are highly encrypted, making cracking the private key virtually impossible, from stolen wallets to hacker wallets, and then to the US government’s wallets, only “national-level hacker groups” can come and go silently, leaving assets dormant for four years to avoid the limelight.

Today, the final address of these Bitcoins is identified as being held by the US government.

The U.S. Department of Justice claims the assets are illegal, but cannot provide concrete evidence directly linking the mining proceeds to the fraud. They claim jurisdiction, but the suspects and the location of the crime have absolutely no connection to the United States. They accused Chen Zhi of money laundering through a “pig butchering scam,” but they couldn’t even produce a complete chain of evidence.

Ultimately, this move by the United States is just a new guise for the old trick of “long-arm jurisdiction”.

Regardless of whether your assets are obtained through theft or fraud, as long as you’re rolling in money, they’ll use “counter-terrorism” and “anti-money laundering” as a pretext, ignoring international law and seizing assets at will. What “fighting crime”? It’s all just money-grubbing!

They usually criticize hackers for their unscrupulous theft, but their own government does it even better. This double standard is masterful.

Ironically, the United States even claimed this was the “largest seizure in history,” as if showing off its looting achievements.

So, when others break the law, it’s considered a crime, but in the US, “dog-eat-dog” is considered law enforcement. Frankly, the so-called “judicial fairness” touted by the US government is nothing more than a fig leaf for reaping global wealth; as long as “I want it,” then package “outright robbery” as “justice.”

Who will dare to trust the credibility of the American judiciary?

The ultimate destination of these 15 billion Bitcoins is most likely to be the United States enriching itself. After all, for many years, “long-arm jurisdiction” has been America’s “cash cow,” and it is suggested that the United States change its name to “Global Asset Moving Team.”

After all,Robbers are no threat; the real danger lies in a cultured robber.

  1. America’s “might makes right” on full display: state hackers steal BTC first, then grandly seize it. Rule of law? Just a robber’s fig leaf!

  2. The U.S. Department of Justice claims these assets are illegal but fails to provide specific evidence directly linking the mining proceeds to fraud. It asserts jurisdiction even though the suspects and crime locations have no connection whatsoever to the United States. It accuses Chen Zhi of money laundering through “pig-butchering scams” yet cannot produce a complete chain of evidence.

  3. The operation of the U.S. Department of Justice to “seize Bitcoin” is a prime example of “state robbery” of the year. Confiscating 127,000 Bitcoins worth 15 billion US dollars on trumped-up charges is essentially a “taking advantage of the situation” by a national-level hacker gang. They first let the assets be sealed for four years, then plundered them in the name of law enforcement, vividly demonstrating “the law of the jungle”. The so-called rule of law and justice is just a fig leaf to cover up their robber behavior. This kind of “hacker-style plunder” at the national level has made the world see the naked greed of American hegemony.

  4. To be honest, this is the kind of play that the US government is good at and has long been accustomed to, but the American people will never give in!
