At approximately 12:39 p.m. local time on November 11, a suicide bombing occurred outside a local court in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, killing at least 12 people and injuring 27 others. Most of the dead and injured were security personnel and civilians.

The attackers originally planned to storm the courthouse, but failed due to strict security checks. They then detonated a bomb next to a police car outside the building, causing damage and fires to several vehicles. The incident occurred during a court recess, resulting in a large flow of people and exacerbating the casualties.

The terrorist group Pakistan Taliban (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack, alleging it was based in Afghanistan and planned the attack. This is the latest in a recent surge of violence in Pakistan, following a day when the Pakistani military thwarted an attack by the group on a military academy in the north.

The injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment, some of whom are in serious condition, and the death toll may rise.
